HeurChain vs Mem0: find the fit for your agents.

Both help AI applications retain memory across sessions. Compare how you connect, what your workload costs, and which evidence applies to your use case.

What are you connecting?

HeurChain offers a hosted memory workspace for your AI tools, with tenant-based plans and Markdown vault exports. Mem0 offers a hosted platform and an open-source project. Each product's current documentation is the starting point for integration.

DecisionHeurChainMem0
Connect an agentREST API and MCP access. Follow the hosted setup guide for your client.SDKs, API access, and a hosted MCP server. See Mem0's docs and MCP setup.
Plan a workspaceHosted includes one tenant and one human seat. Enterprise supports additional seats. Agents share the plan's usage caps.Hosted tiers have project and request allowances; compare these with your application's usage.
Evaluate public codeThe public reference implementation is earlier work, separate from the current hosted service. Check its license, dependencies, and deployment suitability.Mem0 documents separate platform and open-source paths. Review the requirements for the path you choose.

Compare the bill and the allowance

Prices checked October 10, 2026 against HeurChain's plans and Mem0's official pricing. These tiers have different allowances and billing units.

Starting pointHeurChainMem0
Try hosted memoryHosted: 7-day free trial, then $5/month. No ongoing free hosted tier.Hobby: free, with usage limits.
Entry paid planHosted: $5/month. One tenant, one seat, unlimited agents. 25,000 vectors, 50,000 operations/month, 20 requests/minute.Starter: $19/month.
Larger paid planEnterprise: $49/month with one seat included; $9.99/month per additional seat. 2 million vectors, 5 million operations/month, 600 requests/minute.Pro: $249/month.
Custom requirementsEnterprise Custom: contact sales for limits, dedicated infrastructure, and SLAs.Enterprise: custom pricing.

HeurChain counts operations against a monthly cap; Mem0 lists add and retrieval allowances separately. Estimate your actual read/write pattern and required features before comparing cost. Check each provider's current pricing for full terms.

Evidence and scope

What can the benchmarks tell you?

HeurChain's published experiments describe specific retrieval and evaluation setups. They do not establish an independently replicated, head-to-head performance advantage over Mem0.

Latency and accuracy results from different datasets, hardware, deployment paths, or answer-generation models cannot support a direct ranking. A retrieval-only measurement also does not describe the time required for a complete agent response.

See Comparison for the evidence and its limitations, and the public benchmark repository for experiment materials. Public reference code and historical benchmark results should not be treated as a release qualification for the current hosted service.

When to evaluate Mem0

  1. Your workload fits the free hosted tier. Check its current limits against your expected traffic.
  2. You need graph memory. Mem0 lists graph memory in its Pro and Enterprise plans; test it against your entity and relationship queries.
  3. You already use a Mem0 integration. Verify that it covers the clients, framework, and deployment you need before taking on migration work.

When to evaluate HeurChain

  1. You want one memory workspace across AI tools. Connect compatible clients through MCP or the REST API and test whether the right context carries into your next session.
  2. The Hosted plan fits your usage. Start at $5/month after the trial, with unlimited agents within the published caps.
  3. You want readable exports. Download your vault as a ZIP of Markdown files and inspect what your agents have saved.

Try the questions your agents need to answer

  1. Use a representative sample of your own conversations and documents, with questions and expected answers defined in advance.
  2. Keep ingestion rules, retrieval settings, answer model, and measurement boundaries consistent across systems.
  3. Measure retrieval relevance, complete-response latency, isolation behavior, and total cost separately.
  4. Test the practical workflow too: connection setup, updates, deletion, and export. Record the product versions and date of your run.

Start with one agent and a real task.
